Dr. Tatiana Martin

Clinical Philosopher Tatiana Martin, PhD, draws on 20+ years in psychology and philosophy to help clients think clearly through life’s big questions

Tatiana Martin, PhD has spent more than twenty years working with people at the point where psychology and philosophy meet: the questions about meaning, identity, and how to live well that don't fit neatly into a diagnosis.

She holds a PhD in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Western Ontario, where she specialized in health promotion and wrote her dissertation on resilience. She also has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and is currently completing an MA in Theology at Huron University College. Her undergraduate degree was in psychology and philosophy, and she's never really stopped doing both.

As a Clinical Philosopher, Tatiana combines scientific knowledge with philosophical thinking, from the Stoics to Kant, Nietzsche, and the existentialists, to help clients look closely at the questions they're living with. That might be a crossroads in a career or relationship, a stretch of burnout, or a quieter sense that something needs to change. Her role is to help people think clearly, understand themselves more deeply, and move forward in a way that makes sense to them.

Alongside her practice, Tatiana has taught psychology at King's University College and Yorkville University, and she writes about resilience, burnout, self-esteem, and philosophical counselling. She works with individuals and couples.
